Note: If the goal approval is done on paper form, make sure to keep the completed goal approval form and submit it along with the PDP to team members for PDP verification. Professional educators do not have to have their PDP goal approved by a PDP team. Please refer to PDP Team section for the team composition or make-up. The PDP team composition (i.e. the team members’ roles) will be the same as the PDP team that verifies the plan upon completion. Step III: Annual Review of the Professional Development Plan (to be completed each year of the plan except for the first and final) A. Completion dates for objectives and activities completed during each year B. Reflection summary of your professional growth made throughout the year C. In the event that an educator did not obtain a majority verification of his/her PDP (where the PDP is not verified by 2 of the 3 PDP team members), the educator should first explore whether there are changes that could be made in the PDP that would lead to a majority verification. If this process is unsuccessful, upon expiration of their license, the educator can request a one-year non-renewable extension to allow them more time to successfully complete their PDP or appeal the PDP team member’s decision to the state superintendent. When do I complete each step? |

It is strongly encouraged that educators extend their activities throughout the five year licensure cycle. However, depending on employment this may not be feasible for every educator in the initial educator stage.
Please refer to your license expiration date and the following timelines to determine your PDP completion guidelines Part-time Employment and the PDP... Please read further here for more detailed information of why you may need to complete a 4-year and 3-year timeline. Also you can find more information if a one-year extension would be needed to renew your license before your expiration date. |
